RAF open doors to Summer School

RAF St Athan Band will be opening the doors to its base to welcome a new batch of Summer School students — and its free!

Between Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th August, RAF St Athan Voluntary and Llantwit Major Youth Bands will be hosting their first joint Band Summer School.

Sessions

Each day between 10.00am and 3.00pm young musicians will enjoy sessions of performance, theory, individual instructions, ensemble, singing and percussion all leading to an inclusive concert scheduled for Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Attendance is free of charge. All you have to do is bring a packed lunch. If you are interested call to book in advance so that access to the RAF St Athan Bandroom can be organised."

They added: "Our team of fully qualified teachers and instructors are section principals of the RAF St Athan Band and fine performers in their own right and will themselves be performing throughout the week."
