It’s not just Harry Redknapp who has been busy in the January transfer window it seems.

New players

Co-operative Funeralcare Band North West has announced a batch of 11 new players who have donned the colours in the past few months, with Kerry Baldwin, Dan Baldwin, Daniel Cheadle, Laura Parkinson and Shaun Roche the latest to head for the North West outfit.

Musical Director, Jef Sparkes, told 4BR: "These signings build on the strengthening of the band earlier in 2011, and we are very pleased to welcome these quality musicians into our ranks for 2012."

Talented musicians

Band Manager, Alan Smart added: "In the last 12 months, we have attracted 11 talented musicians, not least our Principal Cornet, Mike Jones, and his colleagues Andrea Egginton and Billy Parkinson from Wire Brass."

Alan continued: "I’m delighted personally to have returned full-time to the bass section on Bb bass, and it’s fair to say we are looking forward to the year ahead."
