Hebden Bridge announce contest details

The Hebden Bridge March Contest has plenty of dosh up for grabs. Best foot forward then with the entries!

Following the success of last years event, the Hebden Bridge March Contest will take place on Sunday 21st June, with a prize pot of £1,200 up for grabs.

Organisers

Organiser Steve Gardner told 4BR: "Due to the fantastic support of Hebden Royd Town Council and the local businesses of the Calder Valley, the contest is able to offer a superb prize structure."

Prizes

The overall prizes of £350, £150 and £100 are backed up with £100 prizes for the best 2nd, 3rd and 4th Section band not in the main prizes. Youth bands can compete for prizes of £100 and £50. Other prizes include best Hymn — £50, Deportment — £25 and Best Calderdale Band not in prizes — £75.

Read in the box

The Contest organisers have announced that David Read has agreed to adjudicate this years contest which takes place in the picturesque town square.

Last year's event saw hundreds of people crowding into the square and enjoying the brass band music in the late afternoon sunshine.

Rainford Band
