Tredrea leads Denton on a wonderful Whit Friday

The emerging Denton Brass certainly enjoyed their Whit Friday experience under the baton of Jessica Tredrea this year.

Jessica Tredrea

Denton Brass enjoyed a wonderful Whit Friday experience this year under the baton of rising conducting star Jessica Tredrea.

The band, which celebrates its 154th birthday this year, took to the road and nine different venues in Saddleworth and Tameside with the march, ‘The Elephant’.

Improved

Band Chairman Paul Keogh told 4BR: "The band has improved significantly since Jessica brought her knowledge and experience to us a short time ago. Fourth place in the Tameside Local Championship is a testament to her hard work and dedication as well as that of the band members."

Denton Brass is made up of players from 11 to 70 years of age, including a grandmother and granddaughter, with band members coming mainly from the Tameside area.

Thriving

The band plays at many events and venues throughout the year and has a thriving training band which is already producing the Denton players who will hopefully go on to enjoy many more Whit Friday contests in the future.
