  12 year old Eleri Miles is the latest home grown talent to rise through the Blaenavon Town Band ranks

Blaenavon Town Band has boosted their ranks with the signing of yet another home grown playing talent.

Contesting debut

12 year old cornet player Eleri Miles (above) will make her contesting debut with the band at the forthcoming Welsh League contest in Merthyr Tydfil, just three years after she started playing in the band's junior starter group.

Delighted

Band Chairperson Lucinda Gough told 4BR: "Eleri has progressed rapidly under the watchful eye of Evan Smith. She is delighted to be given the opportunity to compete and play in the senior band and is looking forward to the competition."

She added: "Eleri has show maturity, determination and commitment and we know she will do the band proud, especially as her dad has been the band's stalwart secretary for many years."
