Murton Norwegians set to invade

Norwegian band set to team up with North East pair.

On Friday 4th September two of County Durham’s bands will play host to Sverre Sigurdsons Musikkorps visiting from Norway.

Farr

The Norwegian band’s conductor is Paul Farr, brother to Ray, and a professional horn player in Norway with vast experience of the banding world there having been a conductort and adjudicator for many years.

Friendly

The host bands of Murton Colliery Band (Dennis Noble) and Fishburn Band (Phil Rosier) will team up with their Norwegian friends in a concert on the night before enjoying the type of friendly socialising that the Norwegians have enjoyed over the last one thousand years or more on their trips across the North Sea.
