Pontins champion adds new quintet to the ranks.

The current National First Section and Pontins champion Tongwynlais Temperance has announced four new signings.

New principal

Carl Saunders joins as the new principal cornet to relieve Gareth Hann who has been leading the band on the end chair since 2007.

Students

Meanwhile, Steve Kane, a member of the Household Troop of the Salvation Army and Aveley & Newham, joins on baritone. Steve is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and made his debut when the band won the Pontins title at Prestatyn. Another Pontins debutant, Lowenna Taylor joins on horn from St Dennis. Lowenna is also studying at the Royal Welsh College in Cardiff.

Another Royal Welsh College student Amy Phillips joins on the back row from the Goodwick Band, whilst Johnathan Hayes has signed as a front row player from Llwydcoed Band.
