Test piece workshop in Surrey

NABBC to hold test piece workshop in Surrey. So get along and listen to the works that will count come the Areas.

The Number 1 Area of the National Association of Brass Band Conductors (NABBC) will be holding a workshop on Sunday 28th February at the Adrian Mann Theatre in Ewell, Surrey.

The Workshop will address the music for the forthcoming regional championships.

4th — 1st

The event will start at 11.00am with the 4th Section piece and will conclude with the 1st Section piece at 3.00pm.

Dr Chris Davis (3rd & 4th Sections) and Peter Bassano (2nd & 1st Sections) will lead the analysis of the pieces.

There will be a break for lunch at 1.00 p.m. during which a brief meeting for members of No 1 Area of the NABBC will be held.

Free

Admission is free to members of the NABBC and to any other conductor who completes a membership application form on the day.

Admission for non-members is £5 which will be payable on the day.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Everyone is welcome and the Workshop will be of great benefit to all players as well as conductors."

Ideal opportunity

They added: "This is an ideal opportunity for both conductors and players to be involved and discuss the challenges of the test pieces during rehearsal and performance and, hopefully, to take away some useful tips and ideas."
