Newlands Newland looks to the future

10-Mar-2010
Newland Concert Brass has been drumming up support in Scotland and gaining plenty of new stars to the ranks.

Members of Newland Concert Brass recently took part in several successful workshops in local primary schools with the support of the Scottish Brass Band Association Development Officer, Alan Edmond.

Support

This event was also supported by Newland Junior Band Conductor, Mark Good, who is currently studying at the RSAMD on the BMus (Hons) course and since 2003, he has enjoyed presenting the 'Brass Band Show,' a weekly programme on local radio station Argyll FM.

New stars

There are currently 18 ‘new stars’ in the Beginners Group learning a variety of brass instruments with the support of Mark and a team of tutors from the Senior Band, whilst there are also 12 members in the Junior Band who are continuing to develop their concert repertoire by taking part in regular concerts.
