Bolsover Festival to be broadcast live

There will be 10 hours of live performances, interviews and opinions broadcast to the world at this year's Bolsover Festival of Brass.

The Bolsover District Festival of Brass has confirmed it is to reach out to a worldwide audience this year, as Bolsover District Council and First Art broadcast a 10 hour live web stream of the event on Sunday 4th October.

Based at the Heritage High School in Clowne (Derbyshire), the live web stream will be broadcast throughout the day to include band performances as well as interviews with band members and arts professionals.

Over 40 bands

The festival is now regarded as one of the leading banding weekends in the UK and this year will attract over 40 bands and 2,000 musicians in a six sections of competitive music making.

The streaming forms part of First Art's aim to enable people to enjoy art experiences both locally and regionally, as well as fit within the 'Portrait' artistic theme of building up a sense of place and identity for the First Art area.

Live streaming

The live streaming will be launched on the First Art website and will be integral to ensuring that everyone in Ashfield, Bolsover, Mansfield, North East Derbyshire and beyond has the opportunity to experience leading community arts activities.

The Festival of Brass live web stream will be linked to the wider First Art Bolsover Stories Festival (which takes place in Bolsover Town between 12th -18th October).

The funding for the live web stream has come through the First Art Commissioning strand and is a co-commission with Bolsover District Council.
