Report & Results: 2016 Fife Festival of Brass

A great cross border battle in Dunfermline sees victories for Newmilns & Galston, Ellington Colliery, Buckhaven & Methil, and Newmains & District Bands.

Newmilns

There was an excellent turnout of bands from both sides of Hadrian's Hall in Dunfermline on the weekend for the annual Fife Brass Band Festival.

The event, which took place amid the fine acoustic of the town's Carnegie Hall, saw Newmilns & Galston, Ellington Colliery, Buckhaven & Methil, and Newmains & District Bands come out on top in their respective sections.

All the bands impressed adjudicator Archie Hutchison with their own-choice entertainment programmes which all had to feature a work by composer and arranger, Alan Fernie.
