Road and transport disruptions for Blackpool

If you're heading to Blackpool for the North West Regional tomorrow, give yourselves plenty of time.

Winter Gardens
Road closures and no trains into Blackpool on Sunday means anyone attending Blackpool this weekend

The closure of a number of roads and no train service into Blackpool North train station tomorrow means that anyone attending the North West Regional Championships need to give themselves plenty of time to arrive at the Winter Gardens.

Road closure around 9am

With the demolition planned of an eight storey tower not long after 9.00am, the A583 Preston New Road is going to be closed shortly before and after 9.00am

Anyone travelling into Blackpool around then will need to find a different route

No trains

Planned engineering work on the train line between Preston and Blackpool North also means that anyone travelling to Blackpool this weekend will also need to give themselves extra time.

Bus replacement

With the line close it means replacement bus services will take commuters from Preston to Blackpool.

If you want to make sure you are there get those sat navs out!
