Black Dyke stars to lead Market Rasen workshops

The stars of Black Dyke will lead workshops on playing, conducting and composition ahead of their concert at Lincoln Cathedral in April — and its open to one and all.

  Prof Nicholas Childs will lead the star players of Black Dyke in the series of workshops.

Market Rasen Band will host members of Black Dyke for a workshop day to be held at Lincoln Minster School on Saturday 28th April.

Starting at 10.00am and finishing at 3.30pm the principal players of Black Dyke will undertake both group and individual tuition followed by an ensemble session led by Prof Nicholas Childs.

Conducting and composition

There will also be a conducting workshop also led by the Black Dyke Director of Music as well as a composition workshop with Paul Lovett-Cooper.

The event is supported by Lottery funding enabling the Market Rasen Band to open the event to all brass band players, especially from the Lincolnshire area.

Starting at 10.00am and finishing at 4.30pm the principal players of Black Dyke will undertake both group and individual tuition followed by an ensemble session led by Prof Nicholas Childs4BR

Evening concert

The day will conclude with an evening concert at the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral (7.30pm). The cost of a tickets for the evening concert is £20, but for all workshop attendees will also enjoy a full day of tuition, a sandwich lunch and the evening concert for the same price.
