Foden's principal cornet player Mark Wilkinson has been appointed the new Chairperson of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators. He will take over the role following Alan Morrison's retirement, although he will continue to be a member of the Executive Committee.

Mark led the thanks of the Executive Committee at the Annual General Meeting to Alan, for what was described as his 'dedicated work and professionalism' throughout his five-year tenure at the head of the organisation.

Mark also commentated that he was "looking forward to the various challenges that this role presents."

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee will comprise Simone Rebello, Kevin Wadsworth, Alan Morrison, John Roberts, Colin Hardy, Stan Lippeatt and Nicholas Garman, with David Hirst as Secretary. Sarah Groarke-Booth will continue as Public Relations Officer with David Ashworth as Treasurer.

Test piece workshop

The AGM followed a well attended Regional Test Piece workshop, and saw members discuss various topics of debate.

Thanks were given to the workshop presenters Sarah Groarke-Booth, John Roberts and Rodney Newton for their insight into 'Ex Terra Lucem', 'Napoleon on the Alps' and 'World Tour' respectively, whilst it was remarked that it was a particular pleasure to hear Rodney's thoughts on his own composition alongside numerous questions from those in attendance.
