Busy schedule ahead for European Youth players

The talented youngsters of the 2018 European Youth Band will certainly be kept busy in Utrecht in May, with the announcement of a full week of concert and event appearances.

It will be the 15th time that the band, made up of 36 young players aged 18 — 22 from 16 different countries has come together — this year under the baton of the hugely popular conductor Ivan Meylemans.

Busy schedule

They will initially meet in Utrecht in the Akoesticum in Ede on 28th April for seating auditions before embarking on a busy schedule of rehearsals and events.

EBBA President, Ulf Rosenberg, said: "Everyone in EBBA and ZIMIHC (the local organising company) is looking forward to meet and listen to the European Youth Brass Band 2018 under their conductor Ivan Meylemans."

Wednesday 2nd May: Akoesticum Ede (Evening concert)

Thursday 3rd May: Concert appearance following the final of the European Soloist Competition at TivoliVredenburg

Friday 4th May: EBBC Opening Ceremony

Saturday 5th May: Opening Concert of the 'Bevrijdings Festival' in Utrecht
Saturday 5th May: In concert with Eikanger Bjorsvik Musikklag and K.O. Brass

Sunday 6th May: Farewell Concert after the 5th European Youth Championship

Tintwistle Band

April 28 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a Soprano and front row cornet players to help complete our team.. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
