Star players from National champion Brighouse & Rastrick recently paid a visit to Sherwood Forest Brass to give tuition and masterclass sessions.

Kathleen Gaspoz and Sheona White delivered a workshop on the art of playing a melody and technique, followed by their own masterclass sessions.

The players both young and old were certainly inspired by the duo — from the youngest member Daniel aged 6, to Don, the 70 year old grandfather of the band.

Auction

The workshop was a result of an auction held at Hatfield Band's 'Legends Concert' a few months ago to raise funds for Breast Cancer and the Steve Sykes appeal.

Brighouse & Rastrick kindly offered the services of Kathleen and Sheona to any band that came up with the highest bid.

It was certainly money well spent for two reasons — to support the charities involved and to receive so many tips, advice and inspiration from two brilliant starsSherwood Forest Brass spokesperson.

Support charities

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It was certainly money well spent for two reasons — to support the charities involved and to receive so many tips, advice and inspiration from two brilliant stars. Our thanks go to Kathleen and Sheona who were inspirational."
