Pfeffersberg take B Section title in style

Brass Band Frener-Reifer Pfeffersberg retained their European B Section title in some considerable style this weekend, by the richly deserved margin of four clear points.

Pfeffersberg celebrate

Rather surprisingly the band’s ranks were augmented with an international line up of star players – notably former YBS top man Stuart Lingard. He was joined by Paul Hughes from Beaumaris Band and Australian Rosie Pearce.

Each took the opportunity to enjoy themselves in the Tyrol region of the country and help the band, which has also benefited from expert tuition from Professor David King.

Italian lineage

The talented duo of Englishman Stuart and Welshman, Paul told 4BR (with tongues firmly in cheeks) that they must have had some sort of Italian lineage in the family tree, although for the life of them they couldn’t quite pinpoint it at present.

They both said however, how much they had enjoyed the experience and felt that the outlook for the band was very promising indeed.

Pfeffersberg’s winning programme started with ‘Extreme MakeOver’ before they performed the set work, ‘Cornucopia’ and their final item ‘Where Eagles Sing’.
