McMorran gets Life

New Zealand banding stalwart, Kevin McMorran, has been awarded Life Membership of Canterbury Brass.

In a surprise presentation ceremony following the recent New Zealand National Championships, Canterbury Brass presented band Chairman and Principal Cornet Kevin McMorran with the inaugural Life Membership of Canterbury Brass.

Organised primarily by Todd Turner, completely without Kevin's knowledge, the award was presented at the bands dinner on Sunday Evening following the Band of the Year event.

Todd said, "Kevin's passion and determination to see the band succeed is enormous."

Those there for the occasion were Kevin's partner Deb, daughter Emma and his parents.

Surprisingly, Kevin was almost lost for words.
