New MD docks at Tilbury

Alan Duguid takes the helm at Tilbury.

The Tilbury Brass Band has announced that Alan Duguid has become the band’s new Musical Director.

A former resident conductor of Bon-Accord Silver, he studied for his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Experience

Alan has worked with many ensembles including the Glasgow University Wind Band, the Bathgate Band, Newtongrange Silver Band, Kingdom Brass, Clydebank Burgh and Shotts St Patrick's Brass.

In 2001, Alan won the Scottish heat of the NABBC Conductor Competition, going on to represent Scotland at the NABBC finals in 2003.

Alan will commence his new role this month when he will start to prepare the band for the SCABA Autumn Contest4BR

Since moving to London in 2006, he has worked regularly with the Amersham, Woodbridge Excelsior and Regent Brass bands. Alan will commence his new role this month when he will start to prepare the band for the SCABA Autumn Contest.
