Ashworth off to Aberdeen

Conductor David Ashworth will be making regular trips north over the coming months — a long way north too...

Busy MD Dave Ashworth will be making regular trips over Hadrian's Wall in coming months as he starts to work with Granite City Brass in Aberdeen.

Warm welcome

Dave met up with the band a couple of weeks ago, where he was afforded a warm welcome. "I went up to Aberdeen and had a most enjoyable weekend meeting the band. I was very warmly welcomed by the Chairman, Mike Chapman and the bands committee along with several band members."

They are a group of very friendly people and I'm looking forward to working with them in February. It's a 750 mile round trip but hopfully it will be worth itDavid Ashworth

Friendly

Dave added: "They are a group of very friendly people and I'm looking forward to working with them in February. It's a 750 mile round trip but hopfully it will be worth it.

"I think I'm going to be very busy what with Boarshurst Silver Band (Greenfield) in the Third Section at Blackpool on the 1st March and with Granite City Brass in the Second Section at Dundee on the 21st, but I'm looking forward to both contests despite the travel."
