Chuffed Mead

Steven Mead has expressed his thanks for yet another 4BR Award.

Mead

With his 'Audacious' and 'Brass and Wines' CDs picking up first and third places in the recent 4BR Solo CD of the Year category, (as well as 3rd in Player of the Year) Steve Mead has spoken to 4BR to thank all those who have written to him with congratulations.

Touching

Steven told 4BR: "It's really quite touching to think that so many people enjoy my recordings. I was particularly pleased with the votes that 'Brass and Wines' got as it was only released mid- November, and my friends at the Spanish Brass quintet are also chuffed with this."

Steve just returned from a ten day tour of Singapore and Taiwan on Christmas morning and with the presents only just unwrapped he was off again for a concert in Alte Badia, in the Italian Alps.

High profile

Home just in time to celebrate the New Year he's off again now for a concert with the highly regarded amateur wind orchestra from Hungary, The Ore-Miners Wind Orchestra of Pécs, which has received national coverage in the country due to its high musical profile.

Steve just had time to add: "Thanks to 4BR for their excellent and refreshing coverage of everything in the band world, and Happy New Year to everyone."
