2009 Great Northern Arts Festival

Details of this year's Great Northern Brass Arts Festival taking place in Manchester on Saturday 5th September have been announced.

Brdgewater Hall
 

The band's who will take part in this year's Great Northern Brass Arts Festival on Saturday 5th September at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester have been announced.

Trooping in

At 12 noon, The Household Troops Band will take to the stage inside The Bridgewater Hall in the first of the day's concerts.

Childrens Band return

Following their debut appearance at the event last year, The National Childrens Band of Great Britain will make a welcome return to the Festival at 2.15pm, and at the conclusion of their concert, the band's of Wardle Junior, Healey Smithy Bridge and St James Primary School will give a short concert in what has become an annual feature.

The Gala Concert has a traditional feel to it with Brighouse & Rastrick taking to the stage followed by the reigning British Open and National Champions, Fodens and Black Dyke respectively4BR

Leyland in action

At 4.15pm, The Leyland Band will be showcased in concert prior to the Gala Concert which will commence at 7.15pm.

Traditional close

The Gala Concert has a traditional feel to it with Brighouse and Rastrick taking to the stage followed by the reigning British Open and National Champions, Fodens and Black Dyke respectively.

Event sponsors

With the repertoire to be played and the featured soloists involved set to be announced later in the year, the organisers have announced that York Instruments, Besson Musical Instruments and Yamaha Kemble Music (UK) will be the sponsors of the Festival.

Tickets are available from The Bridgewater Hall Box Office.

Tickets can be purchased for each individual concert whilst all inclusive daytime ticket costs £23. An all inclusive daytime and Gala Concert ticket are priced from £26.

Tintwistle Band

June 9 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to help complete the team. . We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm under the baton of our MD Jim Henson, at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
