Regional round-up: MDs leap up League table

The five winning MDs at the Regional have lept up the 'All Time' Regional winning League Table.

RAH

With just five conductors winning Championship Regional titles this year, the all time league table of Area titles winning conductors has seen a little bit of change.

Brace

With Robert Childs, Garry Cutt picking up a brace each, they now lie in joint 12th place with 9 wins each.

Robert Childs has 7 with Cory and 2 now with EYMS – the two North of England titles some 13 years apart.

Garry Cutt meanwhile has won his 9 titles with 5 different bands. He has 5 North West wins (4 with Fodens and 1 with Leyland) and 4 in the West of England (2 with Flowers, and 1 each with Woodfalls and now Camborne).

Seven

Russell Gray meanwhile has now directed 7 winning performances with 6 different bands to jump to joint 15th place in the all time list.

His victories come with Fodens (2), Ever Ready, Leyland, Whitburn, Desford and Scottish Co-op.

David Roberts meanwhile becomes the latest in a long line of winning conductors by picking up his very first Championship victory with Rothwell in Yorkshire4BR

First since 2000

With his victory at the London & Southern Counties Championship, Jeremy Wise can now boast 6 wins to his name – although this was the first since the year 2000.

He has now picked up wins with John Laing Hendon, Cory, First Brass and Redbridge to lay joint 17th in the list.

David Roberts meanwhile becomes the latest in a long line of winning conductors by picking up his very first Championship victory with Rothwell in Yorkshire.

Could that be the first of more to come or will he remain as a member of the ‘One Club’ that currently boasts 92 members.
