Radio: Time for Brass

More music from Manxland thanks to Ian Cottier.

Time for Brass
97.2, 89 and 103.7FM and 1368AM

2010 was a quite extraordinary year for brass band recordings — the life-blood of a programme like 'Time for Brass'.

Both in numbers and in quality these recordings, from major companies and individual bands alike, they were a source of pleasure and enjoyment.

The following playlist shows what was on offer in the first 'Time for Brass' of 2011 — mainly of excellent tracks that I had no time to play in 2010!

That's how it goes and waiting for me at the radio station when I arrived was another parcel of pleasures to come.

I've mentioned before my amazement at the power of the internet: within quarter of an hour of starting the programme two text messages arrived in the studio, one from across the Atlantic and one from Port Erin, just a few miles down the road. Manx Radio and 'Time for Brass' are truly global!
