The Prairie Brass Band has announced their 'Prairie Brass Person of the Year' award has been presented to the band’s principal tenor horn player, Jeff Phillips.

The award, known as the 'PBOY', is presented to the band member who has displayed not only exemplary musicianship, attitude and attendance but has contributed to the band with outstanding service and devotion.

Band President Clark Niermeyer told 4BR: "For many years Jeff has functioned as the band’s recording engineer, recording, editing and mastering the recordings of many of the band’s performances, including the US Open Brass Band Championships."
