Whitworth Vale & Healey Band has appointed Jason Mark Smith as their new Musical Director.

The appointment comes days before the band set off on a tour of Germany.

Looking forward

Dave Tattersall told 4BR: "The band are looking forward to working with Jason on the future concerts and contests.

The band also thanked previous MD John Binns for all the hard work that he had put into the band over the many years. "We wish him all the very best with his future banding career."
