Richards

Top ranked Australian band, Brisbane Excelsior are performing a concert with Bactiguard Wire Brass at Warrington’s Parr Hall on Thursday 10th September.

The concert is a tribute to the life and work of Goff Richards, who will be attending the event along with many brass band composers, conductors and players.

Tributes

Below are some personal tributes to the great man:

Richard Evans: "Goff's friendship, support and musical imput into my life is total. The compositions, arrangements and programme advice he has contributed over the years, particularly to The Leyland Band, have been wonderful.

And on top of all that, he's such a lovely person. Looking forward to being with him on the 10th. Cheers my friend."

In my view, Goff Richards is not only one of the most talented musicians to have graced the brass band world in modern times, he is also one of nature's gentlemenDr Roy Newsome

Talented

Roy Newsome: "In my view, Goff Richards is not only one of the most talented musicians to have graced the brass band world in modern times, he is also one of nature's gentlemen.

His contribution is immeasurable, and embraces his skills, knowledge and experience in others spheres of music."

Honour

Paul Andrews: "Goff Richards, a brass band legend! The poster for our celebration concert says it all really. In the truest sense, a man of great warmth, humility and modesty.

It will be an honour and a privilege to perform his music in front of what we hope will be a capacity audience on 10th September."
