Durham announce two contests

The Durham County BB Association has announced two future contests.

Durhan Festival
 

The Durham County Brass Band Association's Annual Solos, Duets and Quartets Contest will be held on Sunday, 4th October at 10.00am, at the Blackhall Community Centre, Hesledon Road, Blackhall.

Tickets £2 and £1 concessions on the door.

There has been an encouraging number of entries in all sections which should lead to an enjoyable day of brass music making.

There is still time for anyone who is interested to enter — they can download an entry form from the website ( www.dcbba.org.uk) or contact Mavis Lloyd on 01642 316258.

Annual Grading Contest:

The DCBBA annual grading contest will take place on Sunday 22nd November at 10.00am at the Lubetkin Theatre, ast Durham College, Willerby Grove, Peterlee.

Tickets £3 on sale at the door. Free admission for under 13's

Food will be on sale and there will be a licensed bar.

Both Events are part of The East Durham Music Festival.

Wantage Silver Band

August 22 • Wantage Concert Brass (1st Section) are looking for a SOLO HORN and PERCUSSIONIST. Under the direction of our dynamic and inspiring MD Daniel Hall. This year we achieved 3rd at the L&SC regionals. We rehearse Tue & Fri 7:30pm- 9:30pm in our own bandhall


Ashington Colliery Band

August 20 • Front Row Cornet & Tenor Trombone. We're a friendly, ambitious Second Section band based in South East Northumberland just north of Blyth. We rehearse Tuesdays & Thursdays, 19:30-21:30, and transport can be provided depending on location.


Putney and Wimbledon Brass Band

August 18 • Putney and Wimbledon Band are looking for a percussionist, ideally tune although the ability to play an anvil is an absolute must! We play exciting music with lots of percussion so there's plenty to keep you occupied.
