The Emley Band recently made the trip down to Wychavon and came away with an entertainment first.

Emley Brass and their MD Garry Hallas are celebrating more success on the contest front.

After what has been a quite successful year in which saw them finish third at the Yorkshire Regionals (a result which lead to promotion to the Second Section) and successfully defending their Pogson Bray Trust title, the band headed to the Whychavon Festival of Brass to defend the Third Section crown they won 12 months ago.

The band faced tough competition in a 20 minute entertainment programme contest in front of adjudicator Alan Bourne, but were delighted to be awarded first place4BR

The band faced tough competition in a 20 minute entertainment programme contest in front of adjudicator Alan Bourne, but were delighted to be awarded first place and also pick up the prize for Best percussion section.

Looking forward

The band are now working hard towards a busy Autumn in which will see the band compete at Bolsover Entertainment Contest as well as recording the bands first ever CD in November.
