Folkestone set for bumper contest

The scaba Autumn Contest in Folkestone looks set to be a cracker,

The scaba Autumn Contest at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone on October 11th certainly has a full house of competing bands.

One day event

The new one day event has seen significant changes, including a new look to the organisation itself and the organisers have been delighted by the response.

First band will be on stage at 9.00am, where Philip Harper will have the first of 34 hymn tunes and test pieces to listen to.

For those travelling to the contest, you need to set the sat nav to postcode CT20 2DZ. Get there early and you can enjoy breakfast from 8.00am!

Fine turn out

There is a fine turn out of 13 bands in the First Section which should start around 1.45pm and will be followed by the Championship Section.

Reminder

Players are reminded to look after their instruments as there is no bespoke storage facility at the venue. The Leas Cliff Hall car park (opposite the hall) charges a £1.00 per hour, so take plenty of pound coins with you!!!
