Tip top Tong

Tongwynlais celebrate National triumph.

Tongwynlais

Tongwynlais Temperance has been celebrating their recent National title success at Harrogate.

Gratitude

Jason Bevan told 4BR: "The band celebrated well into the evening and can now look forward to Championship banding once more. We owe sincere gratitude to Phil Harper and all the meticulous preparation he put into the piece, paying close attention to dynamics and not letting things go OTT."

After a number of unlucky and mis-judged performances at the regionals over the last few years the band were disappointed to be relegated last year to the First Section.

We owe sincere gratitude to Phil Harper and all the meticulous preparation he put into the pieceJason Bevan

Quick return

However, the win at Harrogate means a quick return for the band, something they are delighted about, despite a number of players missing the immediate post contest celebrations.

Jason added: "Unfortunately there are a number of teachers in the band so celebrations from half the band took place in the car park of Nottingham service station and a joyful mini bus ride home!"
