The Shirley Band (Solihull) has announced that Dave Lea has been appointed as the band’s new professional Musical Director.

Subsequent to their encouraging result at the recent Wychavon Contest, Dave was approached to return to a position that he previously held from 2001 to 2005 and which saw the band enjoy considerable success.

Working together

Dave will be working closely with Associate Conductor Kevin Short, who is also the band’s principal euphonium, starting with the band's appearance at the forthcoming West Midlands Association Contest at Leamington Spa.
