Cory Band remains well ahead of the chasing pack in the World of Brass – 4barsrest.com Rankings, despite missing out on its bid for a historic 'grand slam' in London last weekend.

Black Dyke’s 22nd victory at the ‘National’ takes it up to the number two spot, while Rothwell Temperance rises to number seven in what has been a remarkable year so far for the Yorkshire band.

Victories at Harrogate by Tongwynlais (36th), City of Cardiff (107th), Brunel Brass (240th) and St. Breward (327th) all had significant effects for these aspiring bands, while the highest new entry is Barton Town in 81st place after its second prize in the 1st Section.
