Double Cornish cream for St Dennis

The St Dennis Band enjoyed a double delight at the recent Cornish Contest in Penryn.

The St Dennis Band recently took part in the Cornwall Brass Band Association Contest in Penryn.

The band competed in both the Championship Section and Open Entertainment Section conducted by Garry Lannie, winning both.

Heritage

The band chose 'English Heritage' whilst euphonium player Kimberly Bazeley won the 'Best Instrumentalist Award'.

Entertainment

Five minutes after they finished they took to the stage to perform their 30 minute entertainment programme which was well received by both the audience and adjudicator and saw Peter Bazeley (Eb tuba) win the 'Best Soloist' award.

Additional awards were presented to the band for 'Best Cornet Section', 'Best Bass Section', 'Best Cornet Player' (Lee Wylde) and 'Best Euphonium' (Kim Bazeley).

April 3 • We have vacancies for a trombone player and a bass player. Cleethorpes Band rehearse near the seafront on Thursday and Sunday evenings. Placed 3rd in the NOE 4th section. Other players are always welcome as we may be able to switch positions around
