LGB Brass, based in Lewes, East Sussex, will be hosting a group of American brass players later this month.

Fact finding

The group are from the Bluffton University, Ohio, and are spending time in Wales and London as well as Lewes. The Brass Society under the leadership of Professor Jeff Boehm, will be finding out the history of brass band culture as well as giving concerts and doing lots of sight-seeing.

Direct route

On 19th May, they will give a lunchtime performance at Salisbury Cathedral and then travel to Lewes, visiting Hastings on the way — not the most direct of routes, but they will see quite a lot of the South Coast!

Welcome

The Brass Society will join LGB for their rehearsal on Thursday after a welcome reception given by the Mayor of Lewes, and the two groups will join forces again on 21st May at Eastbourne Town Hall to give a joint concert.
