Brassed off Crewe

Co-operative Crewe is the latest band to tread the boards in the never ending story of Brassed Off.

Crewe

The Co-operative Band (Crewe) will become the latest in a very long line of bands to become budding thespians as they put the final touches to their personal performances for their forthcoming appearance in the stage play of the film 'Brassed Off' in Stoke on Trent.

Fitting in rehearsals

Players are busily fitting in rehearsals around their work, school, college, exams and home commitments, ready for the show, which opens on Tuesday 22nd June.

The pressure will be on for us more than at a 'normal' concert as we have six performances as the Grimley Colliery Band to play over five daysMD, Jef Sparkes

Pressure

Conductor Jef Sparkes told 4BR: "All our players are really looking forward to Brassed Off, and rehearsals have been going well. The pressure will be on for us more than at a ‘normal’ concert as we have six performances as the Grimley Colliery Band to play over five days. It’s an excellent production, and I hope local people are able to come along and enjoy it."
