James Lyon is the new principal cornet player at Golborne Band.

The Golborne Band has appointed James Lyon as their new principal cornet.

Graduate

James, 22, who previously directed Golborne’s youth band, has recently graduated from Huddersfield University, with a Music BMus (Hons) and as an undergraduate, majored in Trumpet and Conducting under Brian Pennington, Allan Young, Barry Webb and Phillip McCann.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We welcome James at a time of great improvement. This valuable acquisition is an example of how the band is moving forward. We would also like to thank Faye English for all her hard work as principal cornet. Faye now takes over as assistant principal cornet."
