Poulton come out on top at Fleetwood

Poulton le Flyde celebrate coming out on top at Fleetwood on the weekend.

The Poulton-le-Fylde Band were awarded the Parr Hall Trophy for winning Championship Section of the 11th Annual North West Counties Fleetwood Contest held in Fleetwood on the weekend.

Bass and perc prizes too

The band was under the direction of Gareth Westwood impressed adjudicator Colin Hardy to win the £400 top prize, whilst the band's bass section also won the Buster Porter Memorial Trophy and the band's Percussion Section won the Phil Roughley Memorial Shield.

Best performances

Gareth Westwood told 4BR: "Thanks to the commitment of all our players, the band gave one of its best performances at the recent Fleetwood contest and we are looking forward to building on such a successful performance at our future competitive outings."
