Derbyshire County Council recently honoured Derwent Brass with the presentation of an Excellence in the Community Award.

The awards are made in recognition of individuals, groups, businesses, voluntary groups and charities that have made a significant difference to the lives of others.

A total of 82 winners from across Derbyshire were chosen to receive certificates and glass trophies.

Derwent Brass was the only group to be rewarded for achievement — for promoting Derbyshire through outstanding musical, academic, sporting or artistic success at a national level as well as their regular contributions to charity.
