The Umbrella Group working party that was set up following the inaugural Brass Band Summit Meeting in Birmingham last year is putting the final touches to its presentation to the second summit meeting at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on Saturday 29th January.

Progress

The group, which consists of many leading banding personalities under the chairmanship of Stan Lippeatt, has met on three occasions to formulate a number of working proposals, and Stan told 4BR that it is hoped that the presentation will initiate further progress on the future direction of brass banding in the UK.
