Flixton build on morale boost

The Flixton Band is hoping to start 2011 as they ended 2010.

The Flixton Band is looking forward to the new 2011 contesting season after finishing off 2010 with two encouraging results at the Fleetwood and St Helens contests.

Success

Success has boosted the band's morale and with their new signings Danny Lowery on principal euphonium, Jenny Stock on flugel and Pete Smith on solo Eb Bass, the band is determined to make an even bigger impression at the North West Area Championships in Blackpool in February.

Musical Director, Stephen Curtis told 4BR: "I’m very pleased with the band's recent contest success; it has been down to the hard work and determination of the band and recruitment of new players."
