Defending European Champion Cory will be opening their doors to the public in an open rehearsal just a couple of days before they fly to Switzerland to try and claim the European title for a fourth consecutive time in Montreux.

Open rehearsal

The open rehearsal will take place on Tuesday 26th April at 7:45pm at St Teilo's Church, Woodville Road, Cathays, Cardiff CF24 4DX.

The band will commence its rehearsal just hours after supporting the ‘Brass with the Champions’ event at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

The open rehearsal is our opportunity to allow the brass band audience of South Wales to get a flavour of the music and competition in store during the contest and the Gala ConcertAustin Davies

Fantastic week

Cory Chairman Austin Davies told 4BR: "We’re really aware that not everyone will be able to make the trip to Montreux and be apart of a fantastic week long festival of European banding."

He added: "The open rehearsal is our opportunity to allow the brass band audience of South Wales to get a flavour of the music and competition in store during the contest and the Gala Concert."

Depending on the time available the band will also perform other works in addition to the set work and own choice selection from it's Gala Concert programme.
