Rushworth takes Hatfield baton

Last minute call sees Brighouse star take Hatfield baton.

Rushworth

Brighouse & Rastrick horn star Billy Rushworth has accepted a last minute call from Powerfuel Hatfield Band to take them to the Spring Festival on the weekend, due to the ill health of MD Graham O’Connor.

Delighted

Billy told 4BR that he was delighted to be able to help out the band, even if it has meant a bit of a re-jig of his busy playing commitments with the National Champions.

Great band

"Hatfield are a great band and to be able to help Graham is a pleasure. Because of the circumstances we will only have three rehearsals together on ‘Prisms’ but it is a piece I know well and the band has already put in a great amount of work."

It’s a very busy time for us at present, but Resident Conductor Sandy Smith and the players offered their full support immediately – especially as it was for another Yorkshire band!Billy Rushworth

Grateful

Billy is also grateful to Brighouse allowing him to take Hatfield at such short notice. "It’s a very busy time for us at present, but Resident Conductor Sandy Smith and the players offered their full support immediately – especially as it was for another Yorkshire band!"

Thanks

A spokesperson for Hatfield told 4BR: "We are very grateful to Billy for stepping in at such short notice, and would also like to thank Brighouse for allowing him to do this. We all are hoping Graham gets better as quickly as possible, so a good result at Blackpool should perk him up no end."
