NAB Personnel 2011

National Australia Brass announce 2011 Winter Week player personnel.

National Australia Brass

In July 2011 the National Australia Brass annual Winter Week will take place at the St Mary’s Band Club, Western Sydney – the home of National Australia Brass.

Eighth Workshop Week

National Australia Brass celebrates three years since its genesis in 2008. Winter Week 2011 will be the eighth workshop week in a series of annual community projects that have included rehearsals, concerts and masterclasses delivered by National Australia Brass both regionally and nationally.

New Music

During the past three years National Australia Brass has pursued its new music policy with no fewer than seven commissions and world premiere performances. During the 2011 NAB Winter Week National Australia Brass will premiere three new commissions, all major compositions from the pen of distinguished composers and musicians associated with National Australia Brass – namely, Professor Brenton Broadstock, Barry McKimm and Dwayne Bloomfield. All three composers will be in attendance at the National Australia Brass premiere performance of these new major works.

Personnel

National Australia Brass draws its membership from the registry of the Federation of Australasian Brass Bands (FABB) with a total of 48 brass and percussion musicians attending the 2011 Winter Week – the largest National Australia Brass ensemble since its inception.
