Following their outstanding performance of ‘Penlee’ by Simon Dobson at the recent National Festival of Music for Youth in July, the Greater Gwent Youth Band have been invited to perform the work again at the Schools Proms in the Royal Albert Hall in November.

Alan F Williams, Head of Gwent Music Support Services told 4BR: "This is excellent news. Everyone connected with the band is delighted to have been invited once again to perform at the Albert Hall."
The band last played at the prestigious venue in 2006, and this year they will be conducted Paul Holland who led the band at the July event.

Extra duo
The Gwent Music Support Service will also be represented at the Schools Proms by Innovence, a Caerleon based rock band, as well as the Greater Gwent Youth Strings ensemble.
