Grimethorpe set to preview Red Priest

Fresh from their Australian tour success, Grimethorpe are ready to show off their Red Priest to the public...

Grimethorpe

Grimethorpe Colliery Band will be holding their pre-British Open 'open' rehearsal on Thursday 1st September.

Garry Cutt will be putting the band through its final paces starting at 7.15pm at the Sheffield Salvation Army Citadel, 10-12 Psalter Lane, Sheffield, S11 8YN.

As well as hearing Philip Wilby's 'Red Priest' the band will also perform a number of items form their proposed Sunday Gala Concert programme.

Admission is free and the doors open at 6.30pm with light refreshments also available.

Australian broadcast

Meanwhile, following their highly successful tour of Australia, the band is being featured on Geoff McGregor's popular radio show, 'Brass Encounters', details of which can be found ion the 4BR site.

Band spokesperson, Gareth Crane told 4BR: "It's really pleasing to know that the hard work the band put into every concert on the tour has made such an impression, and to have our new CD streamed world wide via Geoff's radio show is fantastic publicity and very rewarding."
