The Just Brass Band from the Costa Blanca is continuing to bring the very best of the British brass banding tradition to the holiday coast resorts of Spain.

Festival performance

The band, assisted by players from UK such as Lyndon Baglin, David Pogson, John Clough, Tony Wyatt, Jim Murray and Paul Applegarth recently wowed the audiences at the 9th Annual International Band Festival in Torrevieja, Costa Blanca.

With the event organisers telling the band that the performance was the best heard in the festival’s history.

Brilliant

Band MD, Dr Ian Tinsley told 4BR: "Lyndon Baglin rolled back the years with his performance playing ‘Rule Britannia’ and David Pogson was brilliant on his rendition of ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’."

He added: "Jayne Illingworth, our own solo euphonium gave a wonderful performance of ‘La Belle Americaine’ and the band received a standing ovation and were obliged to do two encores before we were allowed to leave the stage!"
