Comings and goings at Lewis Merthyr

Welsh contender at Cheltenham has been busy in the personnel department.

 

The Lewis Merthyr Band has announced a number of personnel changes to their line up as they prepare for their appearance at the National Finals in Cheltenham in a few weeks time.

Departures

Following the departures of Bethan Wilkes, Mark Wilkes, Andrew Tossell, Lynsey Tossell and David Arnold, plus the semi-retirement of Allan Wells and the unavailability of Russell Cameron and Fred Nicholas, the band has announced the arrival of a number of new faces.

All these moves strengthen our line up as we look forward to representing Wales at CheltenhamLewis Merthyr spokesperson

Arrivals

Will Meade, Huw Watkins, Lucy Bowen, Daniel Flew, Penny Watkins, Alun Williams and John Griffith all join the ranks, whilst internal moves sees new playing roles for Dil Brimble, Rachel Pritchard, Ken Sharples, Susan Pritchard, Gareth Davies and Mike Pearce.

Strengthen

A spokesperson told 4BR: "All these moves strengthen our line up as we look forward to representing Wales at Cheltenham."

February 11 • We are an inclusive and hard-working brass band seeking a Percussionist on a project basis to join us for the Welsh Regional Brass Band Championships on Saturday 14 March. This is a great opportunity to perform as part of a focused and supportive team.
