Arklow Shipping Silver Band has announced that Musical Director Brendan Breslin has left the band for personal reasons.

Band spokesperson Kevin Fitzgerald told 4BR: "Brendan has worked hard with the band and was beginning to develop his own style in helping get the band back to its very best."

He added: "There have been many entertaining concerts and contests under Brendan’s direction and each and everyone have been most enjoyable.

While this is a great loss to the band we wish Brendan all the best in his future endeavours and the band look forward to inviting him back to work with us again."
