Cornerstone Brass from Yorkshire has announced the signing of Jim Ely who joins from Rothwell Temperance on euphonium.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Jim brings a wealth of experience to the band that is going to be needed as we head towards our appearance at the Yorkshire Area Second Section contest following a successful result at Butlins."

Jim was a member of Cornerstone Brass band in its early years of formation before the offer for Rothwell came along.

The Stones

The spokesperson added: "The 'Stones' are thrilled to welcome him back and we also welcome a young tuba star Shaun Watson who hails from York, along with the immensely talented former International Staff Band horn player, Phil Wainwright, both of whom will make their debuts at St. Georges Hall."
